THE STORY:

After much deliberation, heckling from various unnamed individuals, two half marathons, and my quest to find the perfect running outfit, I have officially decided to run the 2011 ING New York City Marathon. More importantly, my decision to run is driven by my desire to raise money for a charity I support and achieve a goal greater than just crossing the finish line.
As many of you know, I have been a volunteer coach with Ice Hockey in Harlem for the past three years. Ice Hockey in Harlem, started in 1987, is a non-profit organization for youth that uses the sport of ice hockey to promote teamwork, responsibility, and academic achievement. My experience coaching and witnessing the impact the program has on the children, both on and off the ice, is truly rewarding. Ice Hockey in Harlem enables children to participate in a sport that may otherwise be unavailable to them.
I would greatly appreciate your donation as I run the marathon on November 6th in support of Ice Hockey in Harlem. Any contribution will certainly make a difference with donations going toward the purchase of hockey tape, skates, a full set of equipment or summer hockey camp.
Please feel free to visit Ice Hockey in Harlem's website for additional information on the organization and other ways to get involved.
Thank you so much for your support.
