The ALS Association isthe only national, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit voluntary health organization whose mission is to lead the fight to cure and treat ALS through global cutting-edge research, and to empower people with Lou Gehrig’s disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support.
The Association supports research, patient services, advocacy and public awareness.
The Greater New York Chapter provides a full range of essential patient and family services in all five boroughs of New York City, Long Island,northern and central New Jersey,Westchester and the lower Hudson Valley.
The Greater New York Chapter sponsors multi-disciplinary ALS Centers which offer a team approach to care that includes: neurological treatment, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, physical therapy, respiratory therapy and support groups at Beth Israel Medical Center (NYC), Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (NJ), Stony Brook University Hospital (Long Island) and the Hospital for Special Surgery (NYC).

I have a friend of 45 years who has recently been diagnosed with ALS and would very much like to run the NYC Marathon for your event, I have signed up to be a fundraiser for your team. What is the process for running with the team and registering for the Marathon. Please let me know how to be a part of your fundraising effort and how to also particpate in the Marathon for this cause?
