THE STORY:
Womensphere Week wrote -
ARK partners with rural communities to develop solutions to improve the health and education of impoverished kids in the developing world, starting in the Philippines. ARK's keystone $15/kid/year feeding program gets kids, who would otherwise drop out by the age of 10, stay in school; and helps them fight hunger and malnutrition. $15 buys one kid a nutritious lunch of protein and vegetables sourced from parents and other villagers for a whole year! For the cost of a NYC lunch, you can make an incredible impact on the lives of kids and their communities. ARK is a NYC-based, 501c(3), all-volunteer non-profit. We currently sponsor 1,260+ students and partner with 700+ parents and teachers in four elementary schools in Dumarao, Capiz, Philippines.
