The mission of the Red Cross is to provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare, for and respond to emergencies. Our core services include:
Disaster Relief: We respond to 70,000 domestic disasters annually, sheltering, feeding, and comforting those affected-from a family who lost everything in a house fire to an entire city affected by a catastrophic natural disaster.
Blood Collection: We are the single largest supplier of blood in the United States, providing more than 40 perccent of the nation's blood supply for medical emergencies and life saving treatment of chronic illnesses.
Health and Safety: We empower nearly 11 million people and businesses annually with lifesaving health, safety and preparedness skills through training courses such as First Aid/ CPR, Water Satety and Babysitter's Training.
Service to the Armed Forces,: We support the members of the military and their families during deplyment and when they return home through emergency communication sevices, financial assistance programs, re-integration and veteran services.
Internation Relief: Worldwide, the Red Cross network of more than 97 million volunteers offer relief to vulnerable people and communites suffering from disasters, humanitarian crises and health emergencies.
