HERE'S THE STORY:
The Amica Marathon will continue to raise funds for various worthwhile charities in 2011. We're making it easier than ever to let our runners, volunteers, partners and supporters to join in on helping to raise money.
Rated the Fourth Best Marathon by Runners World, the Amica Marathon boasts a scenic course highlighted with breathtaking ocean views. Runners from all over the world flock to Newport, RI each fall to participate in the marathon and half marathon that showcase the City by the Sea.
The 2011 Amica Marathon has partnered with Crowdrise to encourage all participants to unite and fundraise for their favorite charities. All runners can raise money and join an Amica Marathon Official Charity Team for either guaranteed race registration or an opportunity to be a part of the community of giving on Crowdrise. If crossing the finish line after running or walking 26.2 or 13.1 miles while helping a charitable cause is something you've always wanted to accomplish, one of our Official Charities will make that happen! Charity runners walk away with new friends, amazing accomplishments and the sense that they did something even more important than getting in good shape. This is a great opportunity to raise more money than ever and make the Amica Marathon an incredible fundraising event.
