BENEFITING: GARRISON INSTITUTE
EVENT DATE: Aug 10, 2012
THE STORY:
CARE for Teachers (Cultivating Awareness and Resilience in Education) is a unique training that focuses on how the teacher teaches, strengthening teachers’ awareness and resilience, reducing stress and enhancing his/her effectiveness, and making teachers influential models of healthy social and emotional behavior in a supportive classroom climate. Helping teachers support their students to overcome difficulties and flourish socially, emotionally and academically, CARE improves educational outcomes for students.
CARE’s evidence-based set of practical skills helps teachers improve mental concentration and emotional awareness and facilitate responsiveness. Training includes relaxation, movement, deep listening, emotion-awareness, and more. Applying these skills in the classroom allows teachers to consistently be the caring, compassionate and effective people they are.
“The most valuable, personally rewarding and important class I have ever taken”
