My family and I recently adopted a puppy through Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue. After only having him for less than 48 hours, he became very ill. We rushed him to an animal hospital where he was diagnosed with canine parvovirus. At 8 weeks old, Dexter has only had one round of vaccines to build up immunities to viruses such as this. His body couldn't fight the virus on his own and he needed to be hospitalized (Dexter has been in the hospital since Sunday, April 1st). His journey to us was extraordinary and we were not about to let his story end here. Dexter was rescued from a part of Kentucky that had been affected by recent tornadoes, was rescued by CODAR, transported to New Jersey, and was in a foster home which is where we found him and absolutely fell in love. With the help and support of CODAR he has been receiving treatment at a hospital on Staten Island, but the bill for treatment has been expensive. CODAR has supported us and our puppy every step of the way, providing us with a great deal of monetary support and a positive, caring attitude. We are asking that you donate any amount you possibly can to help CODAR continue to provide the support our puppy so desperately needs. All donations go to Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue, which is a recognized 501 c3 charitable organization.
UPDATE: 4/7 We brought Dexter to a different hospital to be treated for the virus. He's still very sick and we need as much support as possible to continue his treatment.
