I've been a runner since the 6th grade (i.e. a long, long time ago ;-) but the last number of years I've figured out that it is truly better to give than receive. Out of that motivation I strive to use my running as a launch pad to accomplish goals bigger than myself.

For the record, I've run 50 miles once before (2007), and just completed a 45 mile run on my 45th birthday (5/26/2011). Is 100 miles daunting? You have no idea. But that is the fun of it! Set a goal. Make a plan. Execute the plan.
