Dear Friends,
For 18 weeks, Team Robin Hood trained for the 2011 New York City Marathon. Weekly runs in Central Park and Monday evening rides at Flywheel were all a part of our six-day a week program. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the work of Robin Hood as our team of 150 runners was comprised of not just Robin Hood staffers but also many folks who work with non-profit organizations supported by Robin Hood.
Robin Hood has targeted poverty in New York City for over 20 years. The approach is straightforward - attack the source, add value by helping programs become more effective and rigorously evaluate programs and measure results. Robin Hood partners with over 200 organizations dealing with early childhood, education, jobs/economic security and survival. In addition, the RH board underwrites all administrative expenses to ensure that 100% of every donated dollar goes directly to charity.
Here's to running 26.2 miles on November 6th to support the work of this great organization!
Thank you for all for your friendship and support, -Ciaran.
