THE STORY:

Welcome to my fundraising page!
My name is Whitney Millegan, and I am pleased to join the Community Water Solutions team as a 2012 Fellow! This December, I will be traveling to Tamale, Ghana to work with Community Water Solutions in providing clean, safe drinking water to the villages.
Did you Know
I am so passionate about this cause that I have decided to spend three weeks of my Winter break (which is usually reserved for excessive eating, sleeping, and relaxation) to help establish water treatment businesses that will provide safe, clean drinking water to villages in need. Once established, these businesses are owned and operated by the communities that they serve, and use simple, affordable technologies to enable the treatment, distribution, and storage of the water. By providing access to safe water, we can greatly reduce the burden of waterborne illnesses in Ghana!
You may be wondering, how can I help?
In order to establish the water businesses in Ghana, capital must be generated through fundraising. As a fellow, it is my responsibility to conduct a portion of the fundraising. The funds I raise will go directly towards the capital necessary for the water business my teammates and I will be establishing. My goal is to raise $2,500 by January 17, 2012. Our team goal is to raise $10,000 I would greatly appreciate your help in this endeavor to cure thirst in Ghana by providing clean and safe water. Every donation makes a difference (and is tax deductible)!
Thank you so much for visiting my page and donating! If you have any questions about the project, feel free to e-mail me at millegan@email.sc.edu or find me on Twitter @CWS_Whitney.
Sincerely,
Whitney Millegan
