WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
My story begins March of 2010 shortly after my 41stbirthday. I had just finished my first half marathon, when something began to just not feel right with my body. I went to my doctor and crossed-off all of the stuff that it wasn’t, and settled on a colonoscopy to get some answers. What was found was cancer--a sizable tumor in my middle colon and three lesions in my liver. Thus began a journey that I never thought I would have to tread. Four different regimens of chemo, radiation sessions and three surgeries later, I am coming out of this with a lot more scars, and, a tremendous new outlook on life.
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
With great adversity there can be great clarity, and with singular clarity one can find new direction. My new direction will begin with the goal of running and completing the2011 New York Marathon. It is my responsibility to raise awareness about my cancer and raise money to aid the battle. It goes without saying that cancer is a terrible thing, but what is most unacceptable is how not uncommon it is. It is a true battle, both inside your body and in finding the right treatment; however, we are in an exciting time with the fight. New drugs, new equipment and new procedures are turning dire diagnoses into hopeful possibilities. I ask that you help me help the people who gave me back my life. I am committed to doing my part, and I hope you will oblige my effort.
