I'm one of the ten official runners in the Team MWCT NYC Marathon.

Soy chef pero tambien soy corredor, hago salto base y ademas SOY VIAJERO Barceló, con mayúsculas. Porque una de las cosas que más me gusta es perderme en cualquier rincon del planeta para mezclarme con la gente, visitar los mercados, callejear y acabar donde se pierde la gente local. He recorrido China en bicicleta, saltado desde los fiordos noruegos y corrido alguna que otra carrera... pero es la primera vez que voy a correr el Marathon de Nueva York y no sabeis la ilusión que me hace poder estar ahí por una buena causa.

El próximo 6 de noviembre estaré en Nueva York acompañado por otro corredor, alguien a quien todavía no conozco, pero del que se que acabaré siendo buen amigo. Un marathon es un viaje interior increíble, una historia de superacion, correr el Marathon de NY es además hacer un poco tuya esa ciudad mítica. Y compartirlo con alguien que también lo ve así será algo inolvidable. Ambos somos Viajeros Barceló habituales y nos enfrentamos a este reto gracias a la iniciativa de Barceló Viajes.

Os invito a que nos sigais en esta aventura, en el blog que hemos creado, www.barcelonymarathon.com pero sobre todo os invito a que nos apoyeis en esta causa, porque MWCT es una fundacion presidida por el actor Edward Norton que busca la preservación de un entorno único en el mundo, al este de Africa, un espacio natural en el que conviven animales y maasai en perfecta armonía. Desde la fundación, no sólo se ayuda a preservar el ecosistema sino que se han creado escuelas, dispensarios, y se está dando trabajo a toda la población local. Un proyecto increíble con una gente excepcional que necesita de nuestra ayuda.

I’m a chef, but I’m also a runner, a BASE jumper and what’s more, I AM A TRAVELER, in all caps. One of the things I love most of all is to lose myself in the most out of the way spots on the planet, mingling with people, visiting markets, wandering down streets and ending up where the locals go. I’ve ridden across China on my bike, jumped off of Norwegian fjords and run my fair share of races. But this is my first New York Marathon, and you have no idea how excited I am to be able to be there, supporting a cause as great as this one—the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Fund.

This November 6^th, I’ll be in New York running in the MWCT team. A marathon is an incredible inner journey, a story of overcoming obstacles, but running the marathon in New York means that you also make that mythical city your own, if only a little bit. And sharing that with someone else who also sees it the same way will make this an unforgettable experience.

I’d like to invite you to follow us on our adventure. But above all, I’d like to invite you to support our cause. MWCT is a foundation headed up by actor Edward Norton, which is dedicated to the preservation of a place unlike any other on Earth—East Africa. This natural setting is home to both animals and the Maasai, where they live together in perfect harmony. The foundation helps not only to preserve the ecosystem, but to create schools, clinics and jobs for the local people. This incredible project is the work of exceptional people who need your help.
