I have always wanted to run a marathon and raise money for a charity group. So I finally made my decision to run for the LA Marathon 2012 after my friend Andrea motivated me to do it! I will not only be running/walking with a huge crowd of inspired athletes, but I will also be joining my oldest sister Vanessa on her first marathon as well. I am a team member of the ThinkCure charity, and my goal is to raise as much money as possible to support this charity and find a cure for cancer. Lastly, I am not only this for myself and the ThinkCure charity, but also for my dearest friend Justin Arias who passed away 4 years ago from cancer. I miss you so much Justin and I know you are in a better place now. This one is for you my singing angel<3
ThinkCure! advances cures for cancers by funding cutting edge cancer research through seed grants.
ThinkCure! is part of the Los Angeles community. We live and work here and want to make life better here, by ending a disease that touches everyone.
So here’s how we decided to try to make a difference: We raise the money, and then we turn it over to the researchers to work collaboratively to find important discoveries and cures. The researchers are based at City of Hope in Duarte and Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles. That means Los Angeles-area cancer researchers will be setting an example for medical advancement through true teamwork.
