United Way of New York City's Fundraiser:
JAY Z at Carnegie Hall Benefit Shows
United Way of New York City
EVENT DATE: Feb 06, 2012
HERE'S THE STORY:
In his most intimate performances in years, JAY Z will headline at Carnegie Hall in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage on February 6 and 7 for shows that are sure to be legendary. Even better, these two historic nights will support the work of United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, two organizations committed to fighting poverty by putting higher education within reach for low-income students across the five boroughs.
Poverty and dropout rates are strongly correlated. New York City has the largest income gap in the U.S., and thirty percent of children in New York City live in poverty. Because of statistics like these, coupled with the fact that thirty-nine percent of New York City students who enter high school will not graduate on time, JAY Z and his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation joins United Way of New York City to get children and youth the education they deserve and to put higher education within reach for low-income students across New York City.
A limited number of tickets went on sale to the public January 30, but there are still some tickets and boxes available. Click Here for more info.
If you can't make the show, please still add your support for these causes by donating above and giving what you can.
