So I've decided to go ahead and run a full marathon this November (DONT LAUGH!). What better place to do this than in the greatest city in the world, New York!! I'll be blogging it for some reason here: http://projectnym.blogspot.com/
In order to get a guaranteed entry to this event I decided to commit to an aggressive goal of $2500 to go to the charity of my choosing. It would be tremendous if we can DEMOLISH this goal!!
I hate cancer with every fiber of my being. I want it destroyed. Since I live with a house full of girls, (2 daughters and a wife) I decided to join the "Think Pink Rocks" team. This amazing team has goal to raise awareness about the early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for screen, treatment and research. I encourage you to give often and give generously to this charity. The funds collected here do NOT go toward my marathon experience. 100% of these proceeds go to CANCER RESEARCH. Do you hate Cancer as much as I do?
Did you know:
• A woman's risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer is greatly increased if she carries the BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation (Breast Cancer gene mutation).
• Men with these mutations also have an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer. Our team will raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.
All money raised for Think Pink Rocks from the ING New York City Marathon 2012 will benefit breast cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Some members of our team have a direct connection to breast cancer, but we also have many team members who are running simply because they want to support a great cause.
Think Pink Rocks is a 501 (c) (3) organization. Contributions to Think Pink Rocks are tax deductable to the extent allowable by law.
