Hi All!  Welcome to my fundraising homepage!

In case you didn't already know, I am currently training to participate in the New York City Marathon representing two organizations, Let All The Children Play (LATCP) and Achilles International.  I will be raising critical funds to help LATCP fulfill its 2011/2012 mission, while serving as a guide for an athlete from Achilles International.  I will run the race alongside my athlete, providing them with all of the support and encouragement that they need along the 26.2 mile course and I couldn't be more excited about it!

On November 6th the streets of New York City will be filled with people from all over the world running and cheering.  The unbelievable amount of energy is the reason Marathon Day has always been my favorite day in NYC.  I am thrilled that I get to experience this day as a runner this year.  Personally, this will be my 3rd marathon and I couldn't be more excited about it (it's the NEW YORK!!).  With that said, it is time for me to use my running experience (little experience, but nonetheless experience), to afford someone else the opportunity to enjoy the pure joy and sense of empowerment of finishing a full marathon, a feeling that has truly changed my life.

The 2011 ING New York City Marathon will take place on Sunday, November 6th, and for the second year in a row, LATCP will field a team of athletes competing and raising critical funding for the organization. However, this year’s marathon experience will be extra special for Team LATCP members as they will be running as guides for Achilles Track Club athletes.

Achilles in an organization whose mission and programs powerfully align with LATCP’s mission of inclusion. The organization provides athletes with disabilities with a community of support. Able-bodied volunteers/guides and disabled runners come together to compete in an environment of support and community.

LATCP members will be competing alongside the Achilles athletes as their guides (mainly the visually and physically impaired), and providing them with the support needed to cross the finish line.

Let All The Children Play is has recently begun construction on its 2-acre universally accessible playground in Eisenhower Park, on Long Island. The organization needs to raise funds in order to provide some crucial pieces of adaptive play equipment for the park. Additionally, the funds raised by the LATCP Endurance Team will allow the organization to initiate much-needed respite programs for families within the community.

Let All The Children Play is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives and dignity of all children by developing accessible playgrounds and inclusive recreation programs allowing children with disabilities the opportunity to experience play, side-by-side with their able-bodied peers.
