THE STORY:

HARLEM GROWN wrote -

Harlem Grown is currently partnering to restore the Harlem Success Garden, a historical community garden which had been neglected for over 20 years.

We have partnered with the local school to redesign an outdoor learning space and are currently partnering with local institutions to engage the community in repairing and reviving the vacant lot.

Current projects in the garden include rebuilding the stage and shed, creating new planting beds and raised beds for handicap-access, recreation of the center field, herb garden and useful plants garden, and refocusing the entire project around food growing and the garden to café project for the local school. Harlem Grown is also engaged garnering support and funding for a movable greenhouse project to be built in early 2012.
