Hike for the Homeless 2011
What: Morningside Shelter's 1st Annual Hike for the Homeless
When: Saturday October 8th 2011, 10am – 2pm (Rain Date: Sunday, October 9th, 10am – 2pm)
Where: The base of Mt. Wantastiquet at the Mountain Road trailhead, Hinsdale, NH (immediate left after second bridge when coming from downtown Brattleboro).
Do you want a chance to enjoy spectacular fall foliage along with outstanding views of Brattleboro, while at the same time supporting a radically important cause? If so, come join us for the first annual Hike for the Homeless event on Mt. Wantastiquet. Participants have the option to hike to the summit or walk the river trail.
You can raise funds individually or as a team. Individual participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $50. The suggested minimum for teams is $250. All proceeds will benefit Morningside Shelter and help house the homeless in Brattleboro and its surrounding communities.

To set up your own personal online fundraising page and begin fundraising for this event:
- Click on the black “FUNDRAISE FOR THIS EVENT” button to the right.
- Here you will be given the option to: Join as an Individual; Join an Existing Team; or Create a New Team
- Make your choice, then follow the easy steps on Crowdrise to create your project, set your fundraising goal, upload an image or photo, and generally personalize your page.
- Begin your fundraising efforts by using your social networking skills (linking to your facebook, Twitter, and/or LinkedIn account)! To do this click on the orange “Share Project” button and click on your applicable accounts, plus you can send emails to all of your friends and family.
*** Please feel free to collect both online and cash/check donations. Online donations through Crowdrise are safe, secure, and tax deductible. If cash and check donors wish to receive a tax receipt from Morningside, please be sure to include their name and address on your paper pledge form (downloadable on www.morningsideshelter.org/events.html).
