Something truly magical happens when disabled riders and horses come together. Therapeutic horseback riding challenges individuals to achieve and improve both physically and mentally.
Opened in 1970 as the first therapeutic riding center built especially for the purpose of serving those with special needs in the United States, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center strives to focus on what individuals can accomplish, not on what they cannot.
Today, the Cheff Therapeutic Riding Center serves riders of all ages who have physical, emotional or cognitive disabilities.
Every year the Cheff partners with Michigan’s vast community of motorcycle enthusiasts and raises funds to help provide the facilities that house and train the very special horses that help disabled individuals develop in ways that would usually be impossible.
The special equine therapy performed at the Cheff Centre has been shown to be one of the most efficient and effective treatments used to improve posture, balance, mobility, and function in patients with motor disorders including:
•Autism
•Cerebral Palsy
•Multiple Sclerosis
•Stroke (CVA)
•Traumatic Brain Injury
•Paraplegia, Spina Bifida, & other spinal disorders
•Developmental delays
Every $50 Raised allows the cheff to provide one more therapy session to a special needs child increasing that child’s likelihood of improved motor function and a better overall quality of life.
we are looking for 500 donors at $10 each to help us reach our goal of $5000 to help kids with physical and developmental disabilities
