HERE'S THE STORY:
As some of you know, my mom died on May 22, 2003 of melanoma skin cancer. She was only 55 years young and a beautiful brazilian woman with dark olive skin, dark hair, and brown eyes (definitely not the typical melanoma victim). She was diagnosed in March 2003 and died 2 short months later after doctors discovered over 7 malignant tumors in her brain. Her story can be seen at www.cleo.homestead.com. My days have never been the same without her. God has given me strength in the past 7 years to deal with her loss. And as part of my grief journey, I feel honored to sweat on her behalf as I run my first ever marathon.
I am privilege to raise funds to find a cure for this deadly cancer. Will you join me in the fight? I'll do the hard part and run the 26.2 miles. Will you reach into your wallet for this cause? We thank you deeply for your gift - however big or small.
