J/P Haitian Relief Organization wrote -
J/P Haitian Relief Organization formed shortly after the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti. The organization founded by CEO, Sean Penn began as an emergency response organization. From the time J/P HRO hit the ground in Haiti on it was painfully clear that Haiti didn't need a quick fix. Haiti needed and still needs long-term support. It’s almost two years after the earthquake and J/P HRO is still committed to rebuilding the infrastructure destroyed by the earthquake and combating the poverty that so many Haitians face everyday. J/P HRO is committed to helping the hundreds of thousands still displaced by the earthquake get home.
For the Haitian people home is dignity, jobs, education, good health, family, creativity and a better future for their country. It would be easy to throw up some one-room shacks and say we helped the Haitian people but J/P HRO isn't taking the easy road. J/P HRO is still in Haiti clearing rubble, fixing earthquake damaged homes, helping families move out of tents one a time, building jobs programs, developing public health programs and working side by side with the Haitian people and the Haitian government to solve the nation's problems.
