Hi everyone.

If you are not yet on the Team Kitten Rescue yahoo group, please e-mail me at teamkittenrescue@yahoo.com so I can add you.

So here's an exciting announcement:

We will be having our second team gathering on OCTOBER 23rd, at 3:30pm, at the Fleet Feet Sports Encino (in the San Fernando Valley). I hope you will be able to come to what's sure to be a fun and informative afternoon. We'll have door and raffle PRIZES, and will answer any questions you may have about fundraising, training, equipment, registration, etc. Plus, Fleet Feet will give you crucial injury prevention tips.

If you need to buy anything, take advantage of the special 20% discount the store will be offering Team Kitten Rescue members on that day. For those of you who are interested, Fleet Feet instructors will also hold a free foam rolling class for us after we're done with the "meeting" portion of our afternoon.

So please be on the look out for your evite and please RSVP as soon as you can!

Thanks. I can't wait to meet the newer members and to see everyone on the 23rd!!

Hello Team Kitten Rescue!!

I am so excited that we are all part of this incredible journey together, and I know that as a team, we will save the lives of countless animals. THANK YOU for making this commitment and dedicating yourselves to this wonderful cause. The homeless cats in our city streets and shelters all thank you for doing this for them.

A few reminders...

1. If you are not already on our Team Kitten Rescue yahoo group, please let me know (teamkittenrescue@yahoo.com) so that I can send you another invitation.

2. Please "like" our team Facebook page ("Team Kitten Rescue") and share with all your cat loving friends. The more people we have on there, the more money we will raise when we have contests!

3. Please remember to register for the LA Marathon at www.lamarathon.com and to choose "Kitten Rescue" as your official charity.

4. Please make sure you train regularly and give your body rests to prevent injury! If you haven't started training, it's not too late -- you can start this weekend! I strongly recommend joining a training program if you haven't done so already. Roadrunners is a great choice (lamarathon.com/roadrunners), and they have three locations to choose from. And remember that there's different ways of doing the marathon -- you can (a) run, (b) walk, or (c) combine running and walking. That's an entirely personal decision.

5. And please remember to personalize your crowdrise team member pages. You can "Edit This Page" (on the top right corner), delete all the default Team Kitten Rescue text, photos and videos, and insert something about yourself!

I want to tell you about a couple contests that are live on Crowdrise right now that'll help you raise money for your walk/run.

(1) Right now, if someone donates $74 to your fundraiser they'll be signed up to win a $500 Moosejaw Gift Card.
(2) And, if someone donates $28 they'll be signed up to win an iPad 2.
