WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
As a business woman, Christian youth mentor, and global human rights advocate I am invigorated and energized by the next generation’s immeasurable potential. Recently, I spent two years of my life working and living in Lesotho helping to reverse the pandemic wave of pediatric HIV/AIDS.As an American, it was difficult to see the pervasive malnutrition and disease that plagued many African children. Here at home, I am equally as concerned about the malnourished yet obese children who are subjugated by heart disease, childhood diabetes and limited mobility due to poor eating and exercise habits. Disproportionately, ethnic minority and poor children bear the brunt of childhood obesity.
Fortunately, I witnessed the remarkable pediatric health recoveries in Africa and likewise, in America we are turning the corner on childhood obesity! I wholeheartedly support the Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s mission to decimate childhood obesity and promulgate healthier habits for the current and next generation of children. I want to help the Alliance reach its goal this year.
Thus far, 2011 has already been a remarkably blessed year with the launch of my new consulting firm. My logo has a globe encased in a puzzle piece. The puzzle piece symbolizes “my part” in creating global sustainable solutions. As a NYC Marathon runner, I will raise not only funds for the Alliance but also awareness about childhood obesity. In honor of my 38th birthday this year, I will commit to raise $3,800. I am passionate about saving the lives of children around the world…one step at a time.
