STUFF ABOUT ME:

I'm a 21 year old City Year corps member! I have dedicated a year of my life to serve the greater Los Angeles school district. Community service has always been a big part of my life. I spent many years moving from place to place, living in hotels, and experiencing community support first hand. It has put a passion in me to serve others because I've been in there spot. I've volunteered with Healing the Children, Smile Train, and have interest in working with Child Help USA and Invisible Children.

One of my projects is to create scholarships for young independent adults like myself so that we may be able to go to college and have a wonderful future. You can help make this dream possible! Donate to charities that support colleges around the nation, and definently donate to City Year, an organization that is making high school graduation a goal that many more students around America and South Africa are working towards! Without donators like you, many children and young adults will never receive the education they deserve so much. If you've had the opportunity to go to school, please, support the cause. Send someone else!

Theres nothing more rewarding than walking across the blacktop and hearing 25 kindergarteners yell "MS.KRISTIN!!!!" while waving frantically until you stop to look at them, and frantically wave back!
I've met students in Los Angeles who have been through more than you can imagine.. they need your support! If you don't believe me, find out for yourself.. become a City Year Corps member. Give a Year, Change the world...

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:

I'm trying to earn some points and get recognized so that I can win some money to go to college. That's all I want to do.. all I want to do is go to school. I am also trying to raise money for the organization I work for, City Year Los Angeles! They have given me so many opportunities to change the lives of children around the Los Angeles area. Not only do they affect the lives of the children they work with, but the lives of their corps members as well.

... All I want to do is change the world.

Happy February, Crowdrise friend! Thank you for your support, through your donations, votes, advocacy and friendliness. You probably know all about the amazing promos that CR runs. Right now, I think the most awesome is the chance to win an iPad 2. Every time you donate $26, you are entered to win.

Your $26 donation to a Reader to Reader project would help us send 2 boxes full of books to an under-resourced library here in the states, or support special education in the DR, or get a women's school built in Nigeria, or get books to families in transition... there are plenty of choices and who knows, you might get lucky!

Happy reading,
Kat

A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint.... What I began by reading, I must finish by acting. ~Henry David Thoreau
