HERE'S THE STORY:
Some of you may know me as Laura Weis, president & CEO of the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce. Family and long time friends have always referred to me as “The Queen.” But obviously, royalty has truly eluded me. I wasn’t born to it and I married a commoner. Ever since I was a small toddler in a tiara, I have dreamed of being the Prom Queen. Sadly, I wasn’t nominated for my high school Prom Queen and I didn’t attend my prom because I didn’t have a date (insert sympathy vote here).
Help me realize my dream of becoming the Eastern Illinois Foodbank Prom Queen. Why? Because if you help me fulfill my dream, you are truly helping to fulfill my real dream that no one in our community is hungry. It only takes a small donation. Even as a child, when money was tight, my parents always had food on our table. I am blessed that my husband and I have been able to provide for our family.
