HERE'S THE STORY:
On Saturday, September 11, 2010 Christina Applegate and I will host the Surfrider Foundation’s fifth annual Celebrity Expression Session at First Point, Surfrider Beach in Malibu. The 45-minute free surf gives celebrity surfers from music, film and television the opportunity to have some fun demonstrating their skills on Malibu’s famous point, while also raising money and awareness for the Surfrider Foundation. For every wave caught and ridden, event sponsors Cali Bamboo and Barefoot Wine will donate $100 per wave back to the Foundation.
The Surfrider Foundation is a fantastic organization doing great things for our beaches and coastlines. They're dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches.
I am a huge supporter of this amazing organization. What started off as a 3-person venture trying to save the beaches of Malibu, turned into a worldwide push to protect our coasts.
Many of our marine areas have suffered damage from pollution, mismanaged fishing practices and coastal development impacts. Surfrider foundation works tirelessly to change this. They also protect and restore coastal water quality and promote the right of low-impact, free and open access to the world's waves and beaches for all people.
Please, please help support Surfrider Foundation. Your donations will help fund programs and research for our world's oceans. We must do our part to protect them.
