STUFF ABOUT ME:

Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, and raised in Boston by immigrant parents, I came to appreciate hard work and determination very early in life.  Since I was a little kid I enjoyed watching the Boston Marathon every year.  Running the race had always been a dream of mine, and it became a reality through the the opportunity with Codman Academy.

Just as the Boston Marathon is a personal goal, so too is my passion to support inner city development.  I was fortunate to experience the invaluable service that Codman Academy provides its local community and students.  Having grown up in Codman Square (Talbot Avenue and Epping Street) during the early 1970’s, I appreciate and can relate to the challenges that inner city youth continue to face.

Having received the e-announcement in my inbox that Codman Academy was selected to participate in the 2012 John Hancock Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program, I thought it would be wonderful to apply and fulfill one of my many dreams.  Knowing that Boston Marathon is on Patriots Day (April 16, 2012), also Tax Day, as a CPA managing my own tax practice based in Boston, I had second thoughts at first.  I'm not an avid runner, and training for a marathon takes serious discipline and a true committment to running.  After some thought that the training would be beneficial during the long, stressful months of tax season, and with the loving support of my fiancee Didi, I submitted my application.  Now that I'm an official member of Team Codman, the physical and mental training has begun with the hope of crossing the finish line and signing my final client tax return!

I thank my family, friends, clients and colleagues for their support as I undertake this first time-ever initiative!  We will keep everyone updated on my progress (Tax and Marathon) over the next several weeks we count down to April 16th!

A big, big thank you to Codman Academy, and especially to Dawn Leaness, for the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream while raising money to support a cause I so fervently believe in.

Rendezvous at the finish line on Tax Day!

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:

We will be signing and electronically filing tax returns at the finish line!  ;)
