I am a vice president of a non profit production company called Community Dream Studios. We produce media projects that bring awareness to social causes and issues within our community and international communities. In addition, we are able to create employment, training and volunteer opportunities in the entertainment industry for those who seek a career in the arts.
Soon CDS will create a PSA to support ITZAM Recycling Temple Fundraiser project that will help design a functional infrastructure to sustain a recycling center in Tulum Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Developing pollution problems arise due to the increase in tourism and the lack of a functioning recycling infrastructure that affects the Riviera Maya. This has created serious plastic pollution in Tulum's pristine beach strip of Caribbean coastline on Mexico’s Yucatán peninsula.
Also since the increase of imported products to the Yucatan Peninsula the pollution continues to affect the Mayan communities in many levels. There are currently no type of trash bins, i.e.: glass, paper, organic food, wood, etc. in place. Creating awareness and instiling consciousness through education around pollution caused by imported plastic bottles/products, will also create the movement behind the manifestation of a functional recycling infrastructure
