The facts are clear: education is the key to uplifting girls and women worldwide. I'm privileged to have attended college and graduate school, and to have opportunities extended to me at every turn. Most girls and women can only dream of a life like mine...like yours. The past twelve months have awakened a passion in me that I feel blessed to pursue through volunteerism. And since I know I'll never raise money in conjuction with marathon-training (okay, stop laughing friends...), I'm turning my 40th birthday into the first step of my life's marathon...helping girls and women around the globe have access to education, skills and resources that will lift them out of poverty and oppression.
