No Shave November -- or Never?

THE STORY:

As some of you may know, some of my students have convinced me to volunteer with their "Save to Shave" fundraiser to raise money to combat neonatal tetanus. Two other teachers and myself "compete" to see who can raise the most money; the "winner's" head gets shaved at the end of the month.

However, I wanted to allow my friends and family to have unusual control over my appearance as well. Given the recent devastation of Hurricane Sandy (a.k.a. Frankenstorm), I decided I wanted to do something to encourage donations to the American Red Cross.

Here's how it works:
-I will completely shave my face at 11:59 pm on Oct 31.
-I will not shave my face again until at least Nov 30.
-For every $10 you (my friends and family) donate to the American Red Cross through this site, I will post a daily picture of my facial hair (YES, IT DOES GROW!), on Facebook, a photo stream, and this site. (i.e. If people donate $120, I will post a picture every day until Nov 12.)
-For every $10 raised over $300, I extend No Shave November another day! (i.e. If people donate $400, I won't shave until Dec 10.)

Details:

-To donate, click the big orange "DONATE" button and fill in the information through CrowdRise's secure system ($10 minimum), OR

-Send me a check (Made out directly to the American Red Cross) for any amount

-Your donations are tax deductible (you will recieve a reciept) AND make you feel good about myself.

-YES, I AM ABLE TO GROW FACIAL HAIR. And if you don't believe me, donate and I'll prove it! And if you do believe me, donate so you can laugh at me!
