Please support Camp for A Day at Normandie Avenue Elementary School - Donate today!!!
Camp For A Day (CFAD) Los Angeles is an initiative that fills a critical need for children in Los Angeles during spring vacation. Camp for A Day is an initiative of City Year Los Angeles (CYLA).
Camp for A Day offers an exciting day of learning and fun for elementary school children. This camp keeps students actively engaged in educational programs, arts and crafts, and recreational activities during the time they are out of school.
This year, Camp for A Day will be held at Normandie Avenue Elementary in South Los Angeles. This school provides a safe haven for community children to grow and learn in a safe environment. However, children at these schools often face negative external pressures in their communities. City Year created Camp for A Day to provide the secure and supportive environment children need during spring vacation.
In order to have a successful Camp for A Day at Normandie Avenue Elementary School, we need all the support we can get! We need materials, food and supplies to make magic happen. As a non-profit organization, we depend on charitable donations to do what we do for the children that depend on us. Donate whatever you can to our project so that we can reach (and exceed) our target goal of raising $2000 for the students at Normandie Avenue Elementary. We can’t afford to short change these kids so don’t let your change fall short.
About City Year
City Year unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. As tutors, mentors and role models, these diverse young leaders (also known as corps members) help children stay in school and on track, and transform schools and communities across the United States, as well as through international affiliates in Johannesburg, South Africa and London, England. City Year Los Angeles brings together 200 young leaders to serve over 2,200 students throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District.
