FRIENDS!

Well after an incredible and truly life changing experience over a 3 year match with my mentee Alex Lambie (see the video of our speech at the amazing iMentor 10th Anniversary Gala on this page) I'm delighted to say that we're now very good friends. But iMentor is all about continuing the momentum and growth so I've now started a new 4 year match with a charming young man by the name of Kenneth Lantigua (see the pictures on the page). He goes to high school in Brooklyn, we've been matched since October of last year and I'm delighted to say that we're getting on famously. And once again I feel like I'm learning more from him that he's learning from me! More than ever I'm convinced that what we're doing at iMentor is truly extraordinary.

I'm growing as a mentor and I know that the mentees I've been fortunate to be matched with are also growing. And as an organisation iMentor is also growing. As a board member I'm very excited about what we're looking to achieve in the coming years. We have plans to take the best practice in mentoring that we've developed over the last decade and to start rolling out this experience across a much broader network of institutions. That means literally thousands of lives touched every year.

As with every worthy cause we need funding to make this happen. And I would be honoured if you would dig into your pockets and help us achieve our lofty goals. Every dollar makes a difference.  A donation as small as $25 allows a mentee to attend a year of iMentor events.  $100 supplies a mentee with a year's access to monthly career and college preperation events.  $500 sponsors a mentee’s participation for an entire year.

We have all had someone in our lives that we consider a role model or a mentor.  Don’t you think today’s youth deserve the same opportunity? iMentor makes this possible.

ABOUT IMENTOR

iMentor is the premiere mentoring program in NYC.  This year alone, iMentor will match 1,800 professionals in one-on-one relationships with students from low income neighborhoods in NYC.  In addition, iMentor will bring our innovative model to thousands of students nationwide through our national program, iMentor Interactive.  Mentoring relationships are changing the trajectory of mentees’ lives by helping them graduate high school and enroll in college.
