Garden Partners is planting the seeds that will grow a community enriching, life-altering (not so way out there) urban farm in Portland, Oregon.
The focus will be on utilizing therapeutic horticulture to address the mental, physical and social challenges faced by seniors, veterans and at-risk youth, while providing the community at-large with a hands-on farm that offers educational opportunities and interactive programs for all ages - smack dab in the middle of the City.
Research data show (it's out there everywhere!) that intergenerational, therapeutic horticulture dramatically improves the lives of all who participate. It is socially inclusive and creates a healthier community.
And the urban farm will just simply be cool:
Living Classrooms - raised beds for edible teaching
Oregon Hanging Fruit Classroom - permanent garden filled with Oregon's finest: Hazelnut, Pear and Apple trees, Blueberry and Raspberry Bushes, Pinot Noir Grapes
Collective Farm and CSA - volunteers get a portion of weekly harvest
Barnyard - Goats, Chickens, Bees oh my! Learning lab about all the great creatures Portlandians can have in their backyards - and food to boot!
Building that houses a restaurant, wine bar and rooms for classes
Greenhouse - year-round teachable space and the sparker of life
Seasonal Farmer's Market
Films and Lecture Series
Hands - on learning everywhere!
We've set a goal of $50,000 to provide the crucial framework to Raise the Barn and Build a Farm!
And YOU CAN HELP!
Spread the word to your network, become a fundraiser for Garden Partners, do a little garden dance and most of all - help us, anyway you can to bring this incredible project to fruition.
The community of Portland, Oregon will thank you!
I THANK YOU!

It will take anywhere from 3 seconds to 1 minute for your pic to upload, depending on how big it is.
You're going to see this message every time you post a new pic. So, we're making the text really long so that it'll take you at least five picture uploads to read it all. Here's what we're thinking...While you're first picture is uploading think about someone you want to kiss. When you upload your second pic think about one friend who you can beat in a race. On your third photo upload think about your favorite food that begins with the letter H. While your fourth picture is uploading think about how great it would be if you were a world class breakdancer. While your fifth picture is uploading try to think of the best candy to eat if you were a mime spending a month in New Zealand. If you upload a sixth and seventh picture please just read all of this again.
IN PROGRESS
We're setting up your Fundraiser page right now. It will take anywhere from 3 seconds to 27 seconds.
CrowdRise is designed to help Volunteers and Fundraisers answer the call to service, raise money for Charity, and have the most fun in the world while doing it. To make sure we don't go out of business trying to help everyone raise lots of money for Charity, CrowdRise deducts 5% on donations made through our site and a $1 transaction fee for donations under $25 or a $2.50 transaction fee for donations $25 and over.
For example, with a $100 donation:
$100 Donation
-$5.00 (5%) CrowdRise's not wanting to go out of business fee
-$2.50 Transaction Fee
$92.50 goes to Charity

There's no better way to make a Fundraiser viral than by creating or joining a Fundraising Team.
A Fundraising Team is a group of Fundraisers or Volunteers, all working together for a common cause. It's like communism but more fun. Start or Join a Fundraising Team if you want to go beyond donating money and get more involved by spreading the word about the Fundraiser to your friends, family, co-workers, etc. Everyone on the Team gets their own Fundraising Page with the click of a button so we make it quick and easy to join the Team and even easier to tell your friends about it. Donating cash to a Fundraiser is amazing and much appreciated but imagine the impact you can have if you go a step further and ask everyone you know to donate too. And then a couple of them join the Team and spread the word to all their friends. We've seen this work successfully over and over and it can work for this Fundraiser too.
If you have any question about how to Join or set up a Team on CrowdRise, please Contact Us.
Share your Project Page with everyone you know and ask them to donate to your amazing cause. 97% of people you ask will say yes. And if they don't give at least a little cash money, there's no reason to buy them a holiday or birthday gift ever again.
