Play Rugby, USA is an extraordinary wellness and prevention resource: tackling the challenges facing America's youth. Our philosophy is to "develop youth through rugby". We aspire to change childrens' lives thorough rugby by providing them with the social, moral, physical and cognitive tools they need to become the best they can be.
We are the only national youth development program to integrate rugby at our programmatic core. We employ an international system of coach recruitment, development and deployment to build local capacity by nurturing partnerships with schools and youth organizations. Our services include after school coaching and instruction of rugby, fitness, nutrition, and academics, competency training for parents and educators, and competitions and enculturation opportunities for participating students.
We serve youth of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, with a particular focus on serving disadvantaged urban youth. We have served over 10,000 students in over 140 schools since 2006.
Our Mission is to strengthen youth character, conditioning, community and academic commitment by integrating the core values of rugby into a distinct and inclusive team sports experience. In doing so, we strive to keep kids healthy, off the streets and in school while providing them with a pathway for life long success.
