THE STORY:
Polaris Project is a leading nonprofit organization combating modern-day slavery in the United States and Japan. Named after the North Star that guided the enslaved along the Underground Railroad, Polaris Project creates solutions to fight slavery where ordinary people take extraordinary action.
Polaris Project works on the front lines to help victims escape from all forms of slavery and supports them to thrive in their freedom. We equip communities with the latest training on the evolving nature of traffickers and create legal safety nets by passing landmark legislation. Polaris Project operates the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, a 24-hour hotline, referred to as the ‘epicenter’ of the U.S. anti-trafficking movement by CNN International.
