My life is deeply rooted in charity work and giving back, and I’ve helped and volunteered with a few organizations since I was a youngster.
Through that experience, I've gained a better perspective of the real world and the everyday struggles and circumstances of people in need. From what I’ve seen, every helping hand, donation, and even word of encouragement can go a long way.
I'm really proud to be able to support one amazing organization right now: All As One.
All As One is comprised of the most selfless people you’ll ever meet, many of whom have dedicated their entire lives to helping others. Their mission is to provide shelter, medical care, schooling, meals, clothing, social interaction and love for the children in their direct legal custody in Sierra Leone.
I was shocked to hear that:
- Sierra Leone has the world's worst infant mortality rate. Roughly 1 in 4 children die before they reach the age of 5.
- Approximately 64% of Sierra Leoneans do not have access to medical care.
- Sierra Leone is ranked last out of 177 countries evaluated by the United Nations, in an index comparing poverty, life expectancy, literacy, education and other factors.
I felt absolutely compelled to do whatever I could to help, so I'm planning a trip to Sierra Leone this year to offer any help I can.
I encourage all of you to learn more about All As One and help contribute to a foundation that is working tirelessly to change the statistics above.
