Ovarian Cancer Research Fund wrote-

We had been trying to have a baby for years, in 2007 my fertility specialist noticed a mass covering my left ovary. The mass turned out to be a pre-cancerous tumor.  I was sent to a gynecological oncologist who verified it and decided to remove my ovaries.  Getting pregnant was put on hold.  My left ovary was removed and my right ovary was biopsied.  I would have to have the right ovary removed as well.  Before they removed it, they let me go through 2 rounds of egg retrievalsand we were able to freeze a dozen embryos.  When I was deemed cancer free later that year, we were able to  move forward in trying to have a baby.  I got pregnant in 2008 and now have a healthy and spirited almost 4 year old!  We used the rest of our embryos to try one more time and was blessed with another baby girl!  Last October the doctors removed my uterus and cervix as well.  I am still cancer free and have 2 precious little girls!  If it weren't for infertility, we would not have caught the cancer at such an early stage and I may not have been here to raise my children.  Please help us make a difference i other women's lives by donating to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund so they can continue to search for a way to detect Ovarian Cancer at earlier stages and helping to raise the survival rate!

 MAKING AN IMPACT

Since 1998, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund has provided $625,000 in funding to ovarian cancer researchers at the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute at the University of Denver and the University of Colorado, Denver. In 2010, an OCRF-funded study by Dr. Monique Spillman at the University of Colorado, Denver, found that in a mouse model, estrogen therapy caused a type of ovarian cancer to grow five times faster than normal.
