As a parent of young children, or really for any of us, the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday December 14, 2012 is just a horrifying nightmare.  The victims' families, as well as the surviving students, staff, teachers and also first responders need as much support as we can all give.  

Please check out my fundraising as part of 'Ryan's Team' for Sandy Hook Elementary School Victims Relief Fund and consider a donation of any amount.  To bring attention to this effort, I'll be running the Manhattan 1/2 Marathon on January 27, 2012 in Central Park.

This is a fund started by a former Sandy Hook Elementary student to gather support for the victims, families, and all others affected locally by the tragic shooting on Dec 14th, 2012. The funds are directed to the school's PTSA organization. Please help in any way you can.

How the funds are being considered to be used:

1) Counseling for the survivors (students, school staff  and families)

2) Funeral expenses for affected families

3) Scholarship fund supporting students at Sandy Hook Elementary

Several people have asked about where their funds will actually go. I contacted the organizers of this site and received the following info:

Crowdrise partners with Network for Good to process all donations.  Network for Good will send donations, less transaction fees, directly to PTSA Sandy Hook at the official address below.  Donations made in December will be sent no later than January 15th.
