Did you know that childhood obesity has more than tripled in the last 20 years? Or that 40% of low-income students in the L.A. Unified School District are overweight or obese?
Here at SOSMentor, we are taking matters into our own hands - and feet! Our ShapeUp Team is running in the 2012 Honda LA Marathon to "de-feet" childhood obesity by raising funds for SOSMentor's nutrition and fitness education programs, and serving as community health advocates and healthy role models for kids.
There are 3 things you can do to help us improve our children's health:
- Join Team ShapeUp for the LA Marathon and fundraise for our youth
- If you don't want to run in the marathon, you can still join our fundraising team. Just click JOIN OUR TEAM on this page and share the link with your family and friends.
- Or you can simply make an individual donation. Whether it's $5 or $500, every dollar counts!
