HERE'S THE STORY:

I love a good cause. And if you know me, you know I am always volunteering for something or fundraising for another. Some of you think I am crazy for wanting to run a marathon (and you may very well be correct! LOL) but it is an awesome experience I can cross off my bucket list as of Nov. 7th, 2010.

I believe we should all have the right to love without being hurt. And I believe the effects of violence in relationships lives on inside us long after the relationship ends. Sanctuary for Families deserves this $2,500 for the work they do. On top of that, not only would your entire donation go this AWESOME cause, but it supports my participation in the ING NYC Marathon on behalf of Sanctuary. I may have to drag myself across that finish line, but I will do it! Let's make it happen.

Sanctuary is the leading non-profit organization in New York State dedicated exclusively to serving the complex needs of domestic violence victims, sex trafficking victims, and their children. For 25 years, Sanctuary has provided life-saving shelter, legal, counseling, and economic stability services to thousands of victims. Last year alone, Sanctuary was a lifeline to over 10,000 individuals who came to them for refuge and support. The funds I will raise through my participation with their Marathon Team will support their many programs, and allow victims to receive the tools to safely move forward with their lives.
