THE STORY:
Signature Theater is the place where I got my first start. I have been on their board ever since.
They are committed to presenting world-class theatre at an affordable price through The Signature Ticket Initiative, which offers subsidized $20 tickets so that everyone can have the opportunity to see this fine work.
Signature is unique in that the company devotes each season to the work of a single playwright. They have presented the work of Edward Albee, Lee Blessing, Adrienne Kennedy, Maria Irene Fornes, John Guare, Bill Irwin, Romulus Linney, Charles Mee, Arthur Miller, The Negro Ensemble Company, Sam Shepard, Paula Vogel, August Wilson, Lanford Wilson and Horton Foote. Next year will be an exciting season as we will be featuring the work of Tony Kushner.
Signature offers the opportunity to experience the results of a playwright's direct involvement in the artistic production of a play, from start to finish, allowing tremendous insight into the scope, context, and substance of a playwright's work, legacy, and continuing achievements. By championing in-depth explorations of a playwright's body of work, the Company delivers an intimate and immersive journey into the playwright's singular vision.
