HERE'S THE STORY:
University of Colorado Hospital expects the amount of organ tranplant surgeries to considerably increase over the next few years. We are the only subsidized housing program that provides 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condos within a close distance to UCH. Patients must stay within a close distance of the hospital post-surgery for months while recovering. Currently our units are full approximatley 95% of the time leading us to turn away many residents due to not having enough space. If UCH expects an increase in their amount of transplant surgeries that means more patients than now will need housing. In order for us to provide our services to all that need them we need to purchase additional units. We are working to purchase three additional units and $80,000 is the amount needed to purchase one additional condo in our complex. Our Subsidized Transplant Housing program will provide more families with the opportunity to accept the gift of life and recover in a safe, clean, affordable environment.
