Team Alabama Power is working to raise $2,500 for Kid One Transport, a wonderful organization that provides transportation to children and expectant mothers to their medical appointments. Kid One's services ensure Alabama families without transportation can get access both routine medical and dental care, as well as life-saving treatments such as dialysis and chemotherapy.
We are running in honor of ShaHaevyn (pictured left), a 7 month old girl whose life has already been greatly impacted by Kid One. ShaHaevyn's mother used Kid One to get to her prenatal medical appointments when she was pregnant and now continues to use Kid One to get to follow up appointments for her daughter. The family does not own a car, so Kid One has been their lifeline to get back and forth to medical care to ensure that both ShaHaevyn and her mother received the care they need. "Kid One has made a difference in my life," says ShaHaevyn's mother. "They are respectful and caring, and always pick us up when we need them."
We can't wait to run in honor of ShaHaevyn and raise much needed funds and awareness to support Kid One's mission so that children like her never have to forego medical care because of a lack of transportation.
