Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston wrote -
Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) is thrilled to partner with our inspired marathon team of John Hancock employees to raise funds that allow us to provide hope and opportunity for youth in Boston and Chelsea. GREAT FUTURES START HERE!
Our mission is to help young people, especially those who need us most, build strong character and realize their full potential as responsible citizens and leaders.
97% of our members feel safe at the Club
92% expect to graduate from high school
BGCB serves 14,000 youth, ages 6-18, annually. Half of our members come from households earning less than $27,000 per year. Programming in our Clubs is offered at a cost of $25 per school year for youth ages 6-12 and only $5 for teens. Yet, BGCB invests an average of $2,500 per member.
Support from our partners raises critical funds for our life-enhancing programming in the areas of Education, Arts, Life Skills, Leadership, Technology, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation.
57% of national alumni say that participating in a Club "saved my life."
