JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL wrote -
On November 6, 2011, Team JDRF will run in the ING New York City Marathon to raise awareness for type 1 diabetes and collect donations to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Type 1 diabetes is a devastating autoimmune disease that strikes children and adults suddenly, and lasts a lifetime. Its onset has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. There is nothing you can do to prevent it, and -at present- nothing you can do to get rid of it. JDRF has an unrelenting passion and commitment to find better treatments, and ultimately a cure, for people with this disease.
Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. All funds donated to this team will benefit JDRF and its mission of finding a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
