To All My Dear Friends,
I am participating in the KBR5K and running as a super hero for Haley. Haley's Mom tells why Kid One is so important to them in the note below..........
Please help me raise the money needed to take Haley to her doctor's appointments.
Dear Kid One Transport,
Haley and I are truly grateful for the services Kid One Transportation has provided for us. Kid One has become a big part of our family and has provided the help we have so often needed. Haley was born February 3rd, 2004 and nearly died shortly after. She was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and has had several issues with her heart including a coarctation of the aorta, a small left ventricle, an abnormal mitral valve and multiple VSO’s. She started out with five holes in her heart and also has mitral stenosis. She has had three open heart surgeries, five regular heart catheterizations, and two heart caths with balloon dilation.
Haley is and still remains the strongest person in our family. When I remember all the surgeries and procedures that Haley has had, I often reflect on the countless times Kid One has continued to be there for us. Kid One has some of the most wonderful people driving for them. When I think of a hero, I don’t think of Spiderman, Wonder Woman or even Captain America. I think of those who have answered the call of duty. The men and women who work for Kid One have become our heroes. They have a huge love for the children and they are committed to their work. They wake up early in the morning to start their day, some of them driving long distances to pick up families in need.
One of the things I appreciate the most is when the driver takes time to share his or her faith and their own stories about their families. Life is, without a doubt, a challenge. We grow together when we share with each other. At the risk of telling my age, “back in the day” Tina Turner sang a song that makes me smile and think of you at Kid One Transportation -- “You’re Simply the Best.”
