EVENT: 2012 Boston Marathon

THE STORY:

This year as I prepare and train for my 7th consecutive Boston Marathon, I am pleased and humbled to be a member once again for the Project Hope Marathon Team. Last year 20 of us, all experienced runners and fundraisers, set out to create the first ever Project Hope Marathon Team and raised well over $ 100,000. These funds go directly to helping families get up and out of poverty.

I hope you will once again help me in my fundraising efforts by making a donation. Funds raised will be applied to the agency's core services: homelessness prevention, adult education and ESOL classes, training and access to jobs that pay career level wages, high quality day care, and providing emergency shelter and ongoing case management for families in crisis. The marathon tradition in Boston represents individuals setting and achieving personal goals. This is the work that Project Hope does with families every day. They help them believe in their own possibilities to break through the barriers that keep them poor. Project Hope fosters their journey through personal transformation and celebrates with them as they achieve economic security for themselves and their children.
