THANK YOU for considering a donation. I am running the Boston Marathon 2012 as part of Team South Shore Hospital. I am a pediatric nurse at South Shore Hospital and am raising money for the department of pediatrics.
Although this will be my 6th marathon, it is my first marathon in over 12 years. A lot has happened in that time....I am now married, have a small child and, most importantly, have aged quite a bit! This will be a whole new experience for me. Since this may be my last marathon (never say never), I am so excited for it to be Boston. The very first marathon I ever ran was Boston at age 19. As soon as I finished that race, I knew I would run more.
As part of Team South Shore Hospital, this race will be my most memorable and meaningful yet. My goal is to raise $7,500. With this money, we will purchase much needed equipment such as child sized wheelchairs, toddler beds and portable monitors. For our playroom, we are hoping to install an aquarium, which will help soothe and distract our hospital's littlest patients.
