THE STORY:

As of April 2011, there are over 560 homeless children in our schools - in the nation's 5th wealthiest county. If any county can eliminate homeless, it's us. I believe in @HowardCounty Maryland. 1 out 6 kids in our school system live below, at, or slightly above the poverty line.

Tom Coale wrote -It takes approximately $1,500 to subsidize the rent for someone that is looking to get off the street and into recovery. For every $1,500 raised, we will have ended homelessness.
