Help us reach our ambitious goal:
Trinity Boston Foundation
Our mission is to change the odds for Boston youth. We are inspired to increase rates of high school graduation, college matriculation and completion, and to strengthen families and improve community health and safety.
PROGRAMS:
Trinity Education for Excellence Program: TEEPoffers Boston Public School students a Roadmap to Excellence curriculum that to date has sent 100% of our six-year graduates to college. This tuition-free program operates year-round with high staff engagement and a belief that investment over many years yields the highest impact for students.
Trinity Boston Counseling Center: TBCC recognizes that mental health care and especially treating trauma, is essential to reducing rates of youth violence and incarceration. Staffed by licensed clinicians as well as interns from area graduate schools, we offer clients the opportunity to examine their lives and make positive changes. A majority of our clients live in high-poverty neighborhoods and we have developed a particular focus on working with youth committed to the Department of Youth Services.
Sole Train: Boston Runs Together: a running and mentoring program for Boston youth. We aim to inspire urban youth to realize their potential, and to achieve the seemingly impossible, by training for and running a half-marathon. Our goal is to build a safe, supportive community that believes in the promise of every member, where healthy habits are instilled, confidence and resilience are honed, and one’s sense of connectedness and possibility is expanded. Nearly all participants begin with little, if any, running experience. In 2011 we had 23 youth and 25 mentors train with us. In 2012, we aim to offer the program to a minimum of 75 youth and 50 mentors on at least 3-4 teams.
Bostonians for Youth: Trinity Boston Foundation’s annual fundraising dinner, which celebrates Boston youth and those who support them. Designed as a collaborative venture among multiple nonprofits, the vision is to encourage awareness and action around violence prevention and safe communities for Boston youth, and to celebrate a spirit of cooperation and partnership.
